Obituary: Mr. Charlie W. Seay 

Mr. Charlie W. Seay of Slocomb passed away Friday, July 18, 2014 at the home of his son in Slocomb. He was 79. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb with Rev. Hosea Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Slocomb City Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. At all other times the family will be at the home of Daryl Seay, 15 Lurie Lane in Slocomb. 

Charlie was born November 24, 1934 in Geneva County to the late Shelley and Ruth Langford Seay. He was a proud United States Marine veteran having served honorably in the Korean War. In his earlier years, Charlie worked in law enforcement with the Geneva County Sheriff’s Department and as a Slocomb Police Officer.  Charlie was the Commander of the Slocomb American Legion for many years. He enjoyed selling produce in Wicksburg and rarely met a stranger.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.  

In addition to his parents, his wife, Fredricka A. Seay; grandson, Camdyn Gage Seay; three brothers: Don, Jerry and John T. Seay all preceded him in death. 

Survivors include two sons and daughters-in-law:  Daryl and Lacie Seay, Slocomb, Harold and Susan Seay, Smethport, PA; three grandchildren:  Hayden, Gavin and Calie; three sisters: Annie Lois McNeil, Slocomb, Bernice Tate (Alvin), Taylor and Merle Harris, Slocomb; several nieces, nephews, cousins, other extended family and friends.
