Damon Lee Kirkland, a resident of Dothan, died Saturday July 27, 2013 at his residence. He was 76.

Graveside services for Mr. Kirkland will be held at 2:30 PM Tuesday July 30, 2013 at Sunset Memorial Park with Reverends Gene Gainous and Karl Hudson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 PM until 2 PM prior to the services at Southern Heritage Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Southern Care Hospice or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Mr. Kirkland was born May 19, 1937 to the late John Henry and Ella Mae Kilgore Kirkland and was a lifelong resident of Houston County. He retired after 45 years from DynCorp at Ft. Rucker as an Air Craft Mechanic.

Mr. Kirkland is preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, John Kirkland and Perry Delbert Kirkland.

Survivors include his wife, Carol Kirkland, Dothan; daughter and her husband, Cindy and William Tingle, Rehobeth; two sons, Ricky Kirkland, Headland, Michael and Dawn Spann, Hartford; six grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
