David E. Johnson, a resident of Cottonwood, died Friday, December 4, 2015 at Flowers Hospital. He was 68.

Funeral services for Mr. Johnson will be held at 11 AM Monday, December 7, 2015 at Howard Grove Freewill Baptist Church with Brother S.E. Newberry officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Johnson was born February 13, 1947 in Houston County to the late Hugha and Lois Miller Johnson. He was a master craftsman having been in the homebuilding industry for several years and later retiring from Southern Lumber. Mr. Johnson was currently the owner/operator of Back Home Tree Farm. He was a member of Howard Grove Freewill Baptist where he served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Johnson, Cottonwood; two sons, Craig and Jennifer Johnson, Mt. Pleasant, SC, Corey and Meg Johnson, Cottonwood; grandchildren, Joshua, Matthew, Faith Ann and Breanna.
