 Obituary: Mr. David E. Morrow

 

Mr. David E. Morrow of Wicksburg went home to be with the Lord, Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 73. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, September 12, at Piney Grove Assembly of God Church in Wicksburg with Rev. Thomas Harrison and Rev. Brian Presley officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends at the church on Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time. 

Mr. Morrow was born September 4, 1941 in Houston County to the late Clayton and Leila Gilley Morrow. He owned and operated All Star Pest Control for many years and attended Piney Grove Assembly of God Church. David possessed a kind and generous spirit which lives on in the lives of his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, loyal brother, loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather. David was an avid bird hunter and fisherman. 

In addition to his parents, his sister, Carolyn Gilley preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 56 years, Marcelene Morrow; daughters: Tammie Barr (Duran) and Sharon Green (Dennis); grandchildren: Chad Green (Meredeth), Aaron Green (Desiree), Laney Barr and Courtney Barr; great grandchildren: Ryleigh Green, Ali Green and Elizabeth Hulon; brothers: Billy Morrow (Sue) and Rev. Royce Morrow (Judy); brother-in-law, Ralph Gilley; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. 

Serving as pallbearers: Chad Green, Aaron Green, Ralph Gilley, Michael Gilley, Mitchell Morrow and Ricky Outlaw.
