Mr. Duane (Sam) Thomas Lawrence, age 59, a resident of Gordon, died Thursday November 6, 2014 at the SAMC following a brief illness.

Mr. Lawrence’s wishes were to be cremated and to have a family memorial service at a later date.

Mr. Lawrence was born on January 7, 1955 in Holtan, MA the son of Thomas Wilson Lawrence and Myrtle Joyce McClenney Lawrence.  He grew up in Florala and was a graduate of Florala High School.  Mr. Lawrence had lived in Houston and Geneva Counties since 1993. 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Joanne Myers Lawrence.

Survivors include: step-mother, Louise Quattlebaum Lawrence, Malvern; step-daughter, Sonia Protheroe, Oregon; two step-brothers; two aunts, Marion Keenan and Letha Lindsay.

Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
