Mr. Edward Carlton Cherry, age 77 of Ashford passed away Saturday, October 18, 2014.
Born August 15, 1937 in Houston County to the late Donald Douglas and Mary Lois Jordan Cherry, Mr. Cherry was an avid fisherman. He also loved to cook and ride country roads with his Yorkie, Peanut by his side.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Cherry; his daughter, Lisa (Sammy) Jones; his granddaughter, Cassadi (Bradley) Roper; his sister, Sharon (Edward) Thomas; his sister-in-law, Annette (Rodney) Whaley; and several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10 AM, Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at Enterprise Baptist Church in Ashford with Dr. David Baker officiating. Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 5 PM until 7 PM, Monday, October 20, 2014 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home.
Serving as pallbearers will be Robby Price, Douglas Price, Ryan Wiggins, Lance Whaley, Jim Whaley, and Jay Nelson.
The family will be accepting flowers or contributions may be made to Gentiva Hospice, P.O. Drawer 2127, Dothan, AL 36302.
