Edward (Ed) L. Edgemon, 88, of Dothan, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2014 at Westside Terrace.


 


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2014 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend Woodrow J. Farrington officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home.


 


Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2346 W. Main Street. Suite 3, Dothan, Alabama  36301-1224.


 


Born in Athens, Alabama, Edward was the son of the late Bonnie and Vergie Bradshaw Edgemon. He worked as a machine mechanic in the Burlington Hosiery Factory and RC Cola prior to his retirement. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII and was a member of South Lena Baptist Church.


 


In addition to his parents Mr. Edgemon was preceded in death by a brother.


 


Surviving are his wife, Wilma Lee Jones Edgemon, Dothan, AL; a son, Eddie (Lynn) Edgemon, Huntsville, AL; three daughters, Ann (Tommy) Kirkland, Midland City, AL, Lin (Dave) DeMartino, Panama City Beach, FL and Sherrie (Gordon) Freeman, Blakely, GA; twelve grandchildren, and twenty five great grandchildren.
