Mr. Emmitt Mims of Chancellor, AL passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016. He was 63.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2016 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva with the Rev. Donnie Earles and Ronnie Baine officiating. Burial will follow in the Shady Grove Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home directing. The Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday, January 18, 2016 beginning at 1:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted.

Mr. Mims was born on December 27, 1952 in Samson, AL to the late Glenn and Ethel White Mims. Emmitt served his country proudly in the United States Marine Corps. He retired from Fleming Foods after many years of service. He loved being outdoors with his sons. He loved his guns and loved to fish. He was always willing to help anybody in need.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one son, Jason Mims; three brothers, Winfred, Bobby Ray, and Max Mims.

Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Susan Sullivan Mims of Chancellor; three sons, Michael Mims (Abbie) of Geneva, Shannon Mims (Haley) of Chancellor, and Jake Mims (Hailey) of Geneva; one brother, Anthony Mims (Jannie); five grandchildren and a granddaughter on the way; one great grandchild; two sister-in laws, Sue Mims of Daleville and Jane Fulford (Dennis) of Samson; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other extended family.
