Foy Bennett Benefield Jr, 68, died Wednesday, August 20, 2014 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

 

Memorial services will be held at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, September 6, 2014 at White Oak United Methodist Church with Reverend Donna Coty officiating.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the White Oak United Methodist Church food pantry, 4180 Highway 431 South, Eufaula, AL  36027.

 

Born in Barbour County, Alabama, Foy is the son of the late Foy Bennett Benefield, Sr and Alma Ruth Hagler Benefield.  He was employed as a paper maker with Mead Coated Board Paper Mill prior to his retirement in 2001. He served his country as a Navy Corpsman in the U.S. Marine Corp and is a member of the White Oak United Methodist Church.

 

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Nobie Jones.

 

Surviving are his wife, Linda Jeanne Pugh Benefield, Abbeville, AL; two sons and daughter-in-law, Tim (Susan) Benefield, Daphne, Al, James Benefield, Portland, Oregon; a brother and sister-in-law, Kendall (Jill) Benefield, Floresville, Texas; two sisters and brothers-in-law, Georgia (Johnny) Gilmore, Eufaula, AL and Alice (Thomas) Hudson, Clayton, AL: grandchildren, Tyler Cole Benefield and Clayton Benefield; several nieces and nephews.
