Foy Percival Glover went to be with Jesus on the morning of April 17, 2015. He was a long-time businessman and lay minister and lived in Dothan the majority of his life.

During World War II, he was the lead electrician and welder in the Mobile shipyards. In 1950, he opened Glover Auto Parts and in 1974 established Foy Glover & Sons Metal Company. In 1980, he established Glover Real Estate Investors. While operating his businesses, he was involved in area ministry and evangelism. In the 1950’s and 1960’s, Foy helped build the original Sunday school wing at First Assembly of God Church on East Washington Street and the Four Square Gospel Church on Kent Drive. He was involved in the Dothan jail ministry and played a role in initiating and serving as president to the Full-Gospel Businessmen’s Fellowship Association. Foy was passionate about ministry, especially Oral Roberts Ministry, and worked to ensure its success. He was an avid member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church, and loved to attend Fellowship Sunday school class.

He was an exceptional patriarch. In later life, he never missed an episode of “Wheel of Fortune” or “The Price is Right,” and all of his children and grandchildren loved to sit with him during those times. He loved keeping his front lawn pristine and planting flowers for his beloved wife, Eloise. Planting flowers only came second to his love of Eloise’s cooking and subsequent fellowship with his family around the dinner table. He will be remembered as a man of God who loved his family and was passionate about Jesus Christ.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother, John Wiley and Dora Rucker Andrews Glover; sister Sybil, brother Gene, and sister Faye Osborn.

He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Eloise Hall Glover; sister, Audrey Andrews; sons, Foy Steven Glover; Charles Terrell Glover; and Joseph Bruce Glover. His grandchildren include Morgan Glover Ingle (Justin); Charles Weston Glover and his fiancée Gracie; Natalie Glover Capra (Joel); Helen Glover; and great-grandchild, Ava Claire Glover.

Graveside services will be at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, April 20th , at Memory Hill Cemetery, with Tim Willis officiating. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
