Mr. Gary Donald Johnson, age 59, a resident of Dothan, died Tuesday December 23, 2014 at his residence after a brief illness.

Memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014 at the Southside Baptist Church in Dothan with Reverend Stacy Stafford officiating.

The family request in lieu of flowers that Memorial contributions be made to the Benevolence Fund c/o Southside Baptist Church, 423 E. Cottonwood Rd., Dothan, AL. 36301 

Mr. Johnson was born on November 25, 1955 in Delray Beach, Florida. He was a former Golf Pro at the Maggie Valley Country Club in Maggie Valley, North Carolina.  Mr. Johnson moved to Dothan from Waynesville, North Carolina 16 years ago and has worked in automobile sales with Midtown Motors, Lamb’s Auto Sales and for 15 years with Jim Skinner Honda.  Gary loved Golfing, Fishing and he attended the Southside Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his mother.

Survivors include: wife of 18 years, Marsha Derrick Johnson, Dothan; father, Donald Johnson, Virginia Beach, Va.; brother, Keith Johnson (Tracy), Virginia Beach, Va.; step-son, Brandon Gilland (Stacie), Columbus, Ga.; step-grandson, Spencer Gilland, Columbus, Ga.; nephew, Drew Johnson, Virginia Beach, Va.; special cousins, Ronnie Johnson, Canton, North Carolina; David Johnson, Glenville, North Carolina; Cindy Johnson & Kim Johnson, both of Norfolk, Va.

Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
