Obituary:  Mr. Gary Wayne Worthy


 


Mr. Gary Wayne Worthy of Slocomb passed away Thursday, February 16, 2017 at his home. He was 65. 


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2017 at Esto Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Esto Community Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing. 


The family will receive friends at the church on Monday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time. 


Mr. Worthy was born February 7, 1952 in Dothan to the late Clarence and Wynell Johnson Worthy. Gary was raised in Esto, FL and worked as a carpenter until his retirement in 2008. He enjoyed fishing, working in his yard and spending time with family and friends. 


In addition to his parents, granddaughter, Cassandra Smith and brother, Danny Worthy preceded him in death. 


Survivors include his loving companion, Lynn Vickers; a daughter: Tammie Smith (John), Panama City, FL; step-children: Kayla Gilmore (Ethan) and Kevin Sellers (Alison) both of Slocomb; two sisters: Wanda "Gail" Lassiter (Lewis), Slocomb and Faye Yeomans, Dothan; five grandchildren: Brittianie Smith, Shelby Bozeman (Justin), Johnnie Maynor, Ricky Adams and Angel Junn; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
