Mr. Gaston Ray Gilmore of Geneva passed away at his residence on January 9, 2013. He was 74. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 11, 2013 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva. Burial with Masonic Rites will follow in Sunset Memorial Gardens with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday from 1:00 p.m. until service time.


Mr. Gilmore was born in Holmes Co., FL on October 23, 1938 to the late Obie Stiner and Eleanor Hewitt Gilmore. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Shelton Gilmore and Fulton Gilmore. He was a member Etna Lodge 202 in New Hope, FL where he was an active Mason. This March would have been his 50th year of Masonic service. He was also a Shriner where he helped with the Shriners Hospital for Children.


He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Louise Lawrence Gilmore of Geneva; son, Johnny Ray Gilmore (Debbie) of Sweet Gum Head, FL; daughter, Barbara Haddock (Lynn) of Vernon, FL; four grandchildren, Brady Ray Gilmore, Beth Sheffield (Raymond), Merissa Alford and Joshua Haddock (Taylor); four great grandchildren, Nicholas and Mason Sheffield and Layla and Eli Haddock; two brothers, Houston Gilmore (Mary Lou) and Dalton Gilmore (Cathy), all of Ft. Walton Beach, FL; sister, Annette Redmond of Ponce de Leon, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
