Mr. George Simpson, age 77, a resident of Dothan (formerly of Northport) died Sunday June 29, 2014 at his residence following an extended illness. 

Memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday July 2, 2014 at the Glover Funeral Home Parlor with Kendall Glover of Glover Funeral Home directing. 

The family will be receiving friends from 12 noon until 1 p.m. prior to services on Wednesday.  Flowers will be accepted or memorial contributions may be made to Covenant Hospice, 104 Rock Bridge Rd., Dothan, AL. 36303. 

Mr. Simpson was born on August 24, 1936 in Northport, Alabama the son of Osco Simpson, Sr. and Lucy Agnes Bagwell Simpson.  He was owner of Simpson Plastering for 45 years and was a graduate of Tuscaloosa County High School. 

He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Osco Simpson, Jr. 

Survivors include: Wife of 55 years, Peggy Rayfield Simpson, Dothan; a daughter, Missy Simpson, San Jose, Ca.; a son, Darryl Simpson (Dee), Dothan; 2 grandchildren, Ashlyn and Colton Simpson, both of Dothan. 

Glover Funeral Home of Dothan is entrusted with the arrangements.
