Obituary:  Mr. Harold Hughes

 

 

                                   

Mr. Harold Hughes of Malvern passed away Tuesday, December 25, 2012 at his residence. He was 72.

 

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, December 28, at Malvern Baptist Church with Rev. Hosea Parker officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

 

The family will receive friends at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.

 

Mr. Hughes was born October 8, 1940 in Geneva County to the late Gaston and Tessie Smith Hughes. He was a member of the Malvern Baptist Church. He worked in the heating and cooling sales during his working career.

 

 He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Jimmy Hughes and one sister, Carolyn Baxley.

 

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, JoAnne Hughes of Malvern; two sons: Kevin Hughes (Amanda) and Ken Hughes (Jennifer) both of Malvern; one sister, Jackie Collins (Dennis) of Wicksburg; three grandchildren: Conner, Hunter, and Lawson; sister-in-law, Billie Johnston, and brother-in-law, Mancil Baxley, several nieces and nephews.
