Mr. Harry Snuggs of Geneva passed away on Sunday, Nov. 2, 2014 following a brief illness.  He was 78.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Jake Brady officiating.  Burial will follow with Masonic Rites in the Geneva City Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends prior to the service on Wednesday beginning at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Geneva City Schools Scholarship Fund, c/o Martha Helms, PO Box 453, Geneva, AL 36340. 


Mr. Snuggs was a member of the Geneva High School class of 1954.  He was the ball boy for the Geneva Redbirds professional baseball team in the late 1940’s and early 1950’s.  He served in the Geneva National Guard unit from 1953 – 1972 and was a longtime member of the Geneva Masonic Lodge.  He served a number of years on the Geneva Planning Committee, and was recognized for his civic work in helping to beautify the city. 


He was born on November 24, 1935 in Mobile, AL, to the late Mary Katherine (Kate) Snuggs.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Robbie Jean Johnson Snuggs, in 1994.  Survivors include cousins Thomas (Mort) Snuggs and John C. Snuggs of Geneva, Ann Snuggs of Washington, DC, and a number of nieces and nephews.
