Mr. Hershell Robert Carte (AKA) Pop a resident of County Road 52 East, Webb, AL passed away Friday, May 20, 2016 at the age of 95.

 

Graveside services will be held at 3 P.M. Tuesday, May 24, 2016 at Memory Hill Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, May 23, 2016.

 

Hershell was born in Charleston, West VA. in 1921. He served in the US Army. He moved to Alabama in 1976.

 

He is preceded in death by his wife Westa Maxine Carte and four of his fourteen children. The ten that are still living reside in Alabama, West VA. and Ohio. Hershell has 38 grandchildren and 30 plus great-grandchildren.

 

Survivors include sons James Robert Carte and his wife Hilda, Gary Carte, Jeff Carte, Randy Carte and his wife Paula, daughters Betty Carte, Alice Hodges and her husband Walter, Lora Jane, Tonga Lee, Tonya Carte, and Judy Elland.
