Mr. James Dale Adkison passed away Wednesday, November 9, 2016 at the age of 62.

Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, November 12, 2016 in the chapel of Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home in Geneva, Al. with the Rev. Terry Glover  officiating.  Burial will follow in the Samson 1^st Freewill Baptist Church cemetery with Warren Holloway Ward Funeral Home directing.  Visitation will be held Saturday beginning at 1:30 p.m. until time of the service.

Mr. Adkison was born October 7, 1954 to the late James Junior and Lois Elsie Glover Adkison.  He was an accomplished wood craftsman having built many houses and other special projects.  He enjoyed fishing, gardening and his passion was his tractor.  He loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother: Timothy Adkison, one grandson: Bryant Lunsford and one granddaughter: Emma Grace Salter.

He is survived by his wife of 37 years: Pamela Ward Adkison, Samson, Al.  three sons:  Sean Dell Hines, Mobile, Al., James Andrew Adkison (Brooke), Babbie, Al, Steven Dale Adkison, Enterprise, Al: five daughters:  Jessica Elaine Williams (Jeremy), Samson, Al., Jennifer Elizabeth Lunsford (Chad), Samson, Al.,  April Leigh Hataway (Jamie), Samson, Al., Anna Michelle Salter (Chris), Opp, Al., and Felicia Renee Moss (John) of Kinston, Al.  Three sisters:  Rhonda Adkison, Ozark, Al., Phyllis Warren (Dale), Daleville, Al., and Lori Adkison Arthurs (Patrick) from Auburn, Al., fifteen grandchildren and a number of special nieces and nephews and other extended family.
