 Obituary: Mr. James F. Price Sr. 

Mr. James F. Price Sr. of Dothan (Bay Springs Community) passed away Wednesday, July 10, 2013 at North Baldwin Infirmary in Bay Minette.  He was 90. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, July 15 at Bay Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Hood and Rev. Teddy Ward officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.  Mr. Price will be placed in the church one hour prior to service time.  Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Bay Springs Baptist Church Building Fund, 1721 South Bay Springs Road, Dothan, AL  36305. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00 until 5:00 p.m. 

Mr. Price was born on Christmas Day, 1922 in Dalton, GA to the late Benjamin and Jettie McCoy Price. He was a proud veteran of the Army Air Corp and was awarded the Purple Heart for injuries sustained in World War II.  After his military service, Mr. Price served in the Civil Service as a mail carrier with the U.S. Postal service.  He was also a certified automotive machinist and mechanic.  Mr. Price was a member of Bay Springs Baptist Church and served as Deacon Emeritus. 

In addition to his parents his wife, Evelyn Bond Price; one grandson, Jamey Price; one great granddaughter, Haley Price; two sisters: Sarah Eddins and Dot Cauley and one brother, Kermit Price preceded him in death. 

He is survived by one son James F. “Ricky” Price Jr. (Jenelle), Dothan; two grandsons: James F. Price III (Teresa) and Michael L. Price (Kim); three great grandchildren: Michael Price, Joshua Cain Price and Becka Price; three step grandchildren: Wendy Oakley, Kim Bradshaw and Mike Watkins; two sisters: Ercie Vosbien and Mary Stocker; one brother Ralph Price (Ginger); several nieces and nephews and other extended family and friends.
