Mr. James Lafette Day of Dothan passed away Wednesday, June 17, 2015. He was 75.
Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Saturday, June 20, 2015 at the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church in Slocomb with Reverend Larry Newton officiating. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2 P.M. Saturday, June 20, 2015 one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
Mr. Day was a member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church. He served 20 years in the United States Air Force Reserves. Mr. Day worked with IBM for 26 years and served as past President of the Arthritis Foundation in Dothan.
He is preceded in death by his parents James Albert Day and Oceail Bittle Day, and a brother Charles Day.
Survivors include his wife of 34 years Christine Day of Dothan; son Christopher Day and his wife Rose of Rockledge, FL; step-son Jay Hutto and his wife Selina of Atlanta, GA; daughters Tracey Wollam and her husband Mark of Oviedo, FL; Jill Ann Day of Oviedo, FL; and 7 grandchildren.
