Mr. James Wade Jackson, age 89, a resident of Dothan passed away on Saturday, March 12, 2016 at his home.

 

Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Troy West officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 2 to 3 P.M. Tuesday, March 15, 2016, one hour prior to the services.

 

Mr. Jackson was employed for many years with Orkin Exterminating Co and Davis-Dyar Supply Co. He served with the U.S. Air Force in Alaska from 1946 to 1948 prior to Alaska becoming the 49^th state.

 

Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Dellion Jackson and her son, Albert Lawrence Gay.

 

Survivors include a daughter, Marie (William) Jerkins; 5 grandchildren Pam (Michael) Nance, Daphne (Steve) Braswell, Robin (John) Kelley; William Brian Jerkins and Amanda (Allen) Stringfellow;10 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren, 3 nieces, 1 nephew, and many friends at Rose Hill Senior Citizens Center, and a special friend, Gladys Corbin.

 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Rose Hill Senior Citizens Center, P.O. Box 2128, Dothan, AL 36302 or Southern Care Hospice, 2576 Montgomery Highway Suite 2, Dothan, AL 36303.
