Mr. J.D. Watson of Slocomb passed away Monday, October 26, 2015. He was 89.

Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the Ward Wilson  Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Newton officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1 to 2 P.M. Wednesday, October 26, 2015, one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted.

Mr. Watson was a US Veteran and received the Purple Heart.

He is preceded in death by his wife Estelle Watson, brother L.B. Watson and sister Dollie Mae Watson.

Survivors include sister Voncille Moseley, nephews David King, Doug Gray, David Moseley, Kevin Moseley, niece Brenda Jones, great-nephews Bryan King, Jeremy King, great-nieces Nikki Roberts, Madison Jones, five great-great-nephews and nieces Patrick, Heather, Keela, Rosie, Tyler, and a great- nephew Dawson Jones, and his special companion Bocca.

Pallbearers will be Brad, Doug, Larry, Michael, Wayne and Buddy.
