Mr. Jerry Lee Benton, age 71, a lifelong resident of Geneva County, died Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at the SAMC following an extended illness.

Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, September 11, 2015 at the Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church (Geneva County Rd. 70) with the Reverend Hosea Parker officiating and Glover Funeral Home directing.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Childrens Hospital in Birmingham, 1600 7^th Avenue South, Birmingham, Al. 35233.

Mr. Benton was born on July 6, 1944 in Geneva County the son of Huey Benton and Myrl Watford Benton.  Mr. Benton was a member of Malvern Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Glenda Faye Cherry; a brother, Billy Gerald Benton.

Survivors include: a brother, Robert Earl Benton (Mary), Palm Coast, Fl.; 2 sisters, Sue Meadows (Jimmy), Huntsville; Betty Harris (J.W.), Box Springs, Ga.; several nieces, nephews, Great Nieces and Great Nephews; special life-long friends, Jimmy and Wanda Parker, Dothan.  

Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
