Mr. James A. “Jim” Dunn of Tuscaloosa and formerly of Hacoda, died on Monday, April 29, 2013 after an extended illness.  He was 49.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, May 2, 2013 in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Samson with Brother Bob Cox officiating.  Burial will follow in Travelers Rest Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Samson directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.  Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to The Life Raft Group, 155 Route 46 West, Suite 202

Mr. Dunn was born in Opp, AL on November 22, 1963.  Jim graduated from Samson High School, Class of 1982 and the University of Alabama.  He was a writer, covering the University of Alabama football for the Birmingham News.  He loved Alabama football and Nascar Racing.  He was preceded in death by his father, Alfred Dunn.

 

He is survived by his son, Jacob Dunn of Tuscaloosa; mother, Nell Dunn; sister, Sharon Williams (Tony); and nephew, Jay McCall, all of Hacoda.
