Jimmy Theron Smith, age 79, of Dothan, AL passed away after a long wonderful journey here on earth to be with The Lord on Sunday April 28, 2013 at the Southeast AL Medical Center, surrounded by his loving family, after an extended illness.


 


Funeral services for Mr. Smith will be held 12 P. M. Wednesday May 1, 2013 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Kyle Gatlin officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson directing.


 


The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday May 1, 2013 from 10:30 A. M. until 12 P. M.. Jimmy Smith was born September 26, 1933 near Dothan, Alabama where he was a lifelong resident and a member of Berean Baptist Church.


 


Mr. Smith was retired from the electric department with the City of Dothan. Mr. Smith was a devoted and loving husband and father to his family.


 


Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents James E. and Ollie Bell Smith; sister Mary Alice Enfinger; brother Jack Smith, all of Dothan.


 


Survivors include his wife of 50 years Annette Wills Smith, Dothan; two daughters, Starla Barnes (Ronnie) Dothan, AL; Shelaine Smith (Craig) Dothan, AL; one son, Stacy Smith (Wendi) Dothan, AL; four grandchildren, Morgan Smith and Brandon Barnes and fiancé (Jami McAllister), Kelly Smith and Tyler Smith; one great grandchild, Addyson Barnes one sister Barbara Ann Lee, Dothan, AL; two brothers Billy Gene Smith, Dothan, AL and Clifton "Pete" Smith, Dothan, AL; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
