Mr. Joe Neal Jenkins, age 77, of Dothan passed away Saturday, May 7, 2016.

 

Born June 8, 1938 to Herbert George Jenkins and Estelle Godwin Jenkins. Mr. Jenkins was a long time member of the Cloverdale Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his family first and foremost. He was also an avid reader and enjoyed spending time outdoors fishing and hunting as well. 

 

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, George Jenkins and one niece.

 

Survivors include his wife Martha Jane Morris Jenkins, of Dothan, Al. daughter, Teresa Jenkins Sims (Mack) of Dothan, Al., two sons, Larry Neal Jenkins (Martha) of Prattville, Al., Gary Hugh Jenkins (Stephanie) of Pansey, Al. brother, Jack D. Jenkins (Sarah) of Dothan AL. six grandchildren, Jessica Sims, Hannah Jenkins, Emily Jenkins, Abigail Sims, Garrison Jenkins, and Drew Bynum. Great-grandchild, Christopher Stanhope, many special Nieces and nephews, lots of very special friends and all the workers of Gentiva Hospice.

 

Funeral Service will be held at 11 A.M., Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Larry Neal Jenkins and Reverend Steve Skidmore officiating. Burial will follow at Union Springs Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 P.M., Monday, May 9, 2016 at the funeral home. The family will also receive friends from 10 to 11 A.M. Tuesday, May 10, 2016,one hour prior to the service. The family will receive flowers or contribution can be made to Union Springs Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund attention:  Stephanie Jenkins 3767 E. Cook Rd. Pansey, Al. 36370.

Serving as pallbearers will be Garrison Jenkins, Bobby Sowell, Gary Roney, John Engstrom, Mack Sims , and David Colvin. Honorary pallbearers are Russell Goolsby's Sunday School Class, Cloverdale Baptist Church.
