Mr. Joel Turner of Ozark (Ewell Community) passed away Sunday, October 9, 2016 at his residence. He was 70.

 

Funeral Services will be held 2PM Thursday, October 13, 2016 in the Earl Bankston Memorial Chapel of Fuqua-Bankston Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Underwood officiating. Burial with Military Honors  will follow in Newton City Cemetery with Fuqua-Bankston directing. The family wil receive friends at the funeral home Thursday one hour prior to services.

 

Mr. Turner was born in Union Springs, Alabama August 6, 1946 to the late Joe Lee Turner and Bertha Taylor Turner. He proudly served our country in the United States Army. He was a painter and loved to fish. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Merle Smith and a brother, Leon Turner.

 

Surviving family include his wife, Geneva (Nita) Turner; daughters, Mary Herring, Angie Morgan, Shelli Carroll, Kelly Ratliff and Santana Turner; sons, Joel Shane Turner and Dustin Ryan Turner; sisters, Rita Barnes, Priscilla Taylor, Coletha Jean Moore and Linda Lee Kilpatrick; brothers, Paul Turner, Henry Turner and David Turner; 17 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
