Mr. John Durwood Skipper of Dothan passed away Saturday, March 28, 2015 at his residence. He was 89.

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Tuesday, March 31, 2015 at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Jerry Grandstaff and Reverend Stacy Stafford officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. In lieu of flowers, the family request that contributions be made to Southside Baptist Church or Gentiva Hospice.

Mr. Skipper is preceded in death by his wife Jessie Johnson Skipper and his parents Benjamin Wade Skipper and Mattie Herring Skipper, and one brother David Earl Skipper.

Survivors include sons John Durwood Skipper, Jr (Donna) of Mobile; Timothy Johnson Skipper (Joyce) of Dothan; Mark Wayne Skipper (Kim) of Dothan; grandchildren John Durwood Skipper, III “Tripp” (Sarah) of Auburn; Tara Reece Skipper Armbruster (Matt) of Mobile; Mark Wayne Skipper, Jr. (Vanessa) of Birmingham, Wesley Clay Skipper (Ashlyn) of Birmingham, and eight great-grandchildren.
