Obituary: Jose Merced Lugo

 

Jose` Merced Lugo of Enterprise went home to be with the Lord Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.  He was 71.

Memorial services will be at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 18, 2015 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Enterprise with Pastor Jamie Payton officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am and continuing until service time.

Mr. Lugo was born on March 20, 1944 in Rio Piedias, Puerto Rico to Pedro and Florentina Lugo.  He was beloved by all that knew him and touched many lives in a positive way. He will be missed by all. Jose` is at home with Jesus and at peace, no longer in any pain.

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Alfonso Bettincourt and a son, Joseph M. Lugo.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the DAV (Disabled American Veterans), a charity that was supported by Jose`.

Survivors include his wife, Denise M. Lugo; mother, Florentina Lugo Bettincourt; 4 daughters: Cindi Tate-Skourup, Mary Catherine Elder, Sheri L. Payton, Christel R. Cline; one son, Robert Lugo; one sister Olga Lugo Knott, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren.
