Joseph Hayward Fennell, 70, of Dothan, Alabama died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at his residence.


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, June 16, 2013 in Clearman Chapel of Southern Heritage Funeral Home with Reverend Eddie Littlefield officiating. Burial will follow in Harper’s Joy Assembly of God Church Cemetery with Southern Heritage Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.


Mr. Fennell was born a son of the late Joseph Gennings & Georgia-Olive Luevene Money Fennell. He served in the U.S. Army for over twenty years with tours of duty in the Korean War and in the Vietnam War. He then worked for the City of Dothan Electrical Department as a sub station supervisor for twenty six years.


Surviving are his wife, Callie Ann Garrett Fennell, Dothan, Alabama; two daughters and son-in-law, Pam (Craig) Deal & Donna Clemmons all of Dothan, Alabama; a step daughter, Debra Lynn (Todd) Baxley, Jacksonville, Florida; a special first cousin, Lee Allen Aplin, Dothan, Alabama; six grandchildren, Whitni Michael, Dothan, Alabama, Trey Michael, Dothan, Alabama, Seth (Elizabeth) Michael, Tuscaloosa, Alabama, Stephen Deal, Dothan, Alabama, Samantha (Joseph) Braswell, Dothan, Alabama, Stephanie (Christopher) Deal-Thompson, Dothan, Alabama; one great grandson, Parker Gennings Thompson, Headland, Alabama.
