Mr. Julius Mitchell Parmer of Dothan passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Noland Hospital. He was 77.


 


Funeral services will be held at 2 P.M. Tuesday, March 12, 2013, at Harvest Church with Reverends Ralph Sigler and Roy Rogers officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with full military honors and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.


 


The family will be receiving friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 P.M. Monday, March 11, 2013. Flowers will be accepted.


 


Mr. Parmer was a member of Harvest Church. He liked to travel and fish. He loved his church and small Bible Study Groups, but most of all he loved his children and grandchildren.


 


He is preceded in death by his parents, Julius Gaston Parmer and Era Lee Stough.


 


Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary Parmer of Dothan; daughters, Donna Gayle Hays and her husband, Terry of Birmingham, AL; Wanda Jean Peters and her husband, Kyle of Webb; son, Mitchell D. Parmer and his wife, Joyce of Virginia; sisters, Sue Godwin and her husband, Jerry of Dothan; Veleta Walding of Pinckard; brother, Jerry Parmer and his wife, Kay of Dothan; grandchildren, Tyler, Haley, Evan, Nathan, Tiffany, Krystal, two great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and special friend, Ed Baker.


 


Family members will serve as honorary pallbearers.
