Mr. Kenneth D. Smith of Webb passed away peacefully in his 77^th year on Monday, July 6, 2015 at his home.

 

Born August 27, 1937 in Cullman, Alabama to the late Hugh Dorsey and Ruby Bentley Smith, Mr. Smith served his country for eight years in the United States Air Force. He continued his public service after the Air Force, eventually retiring from civil service as a firefighter. During his later years as a firefighter, he served as a fire chief.

 

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Hietbrink Smith; his daughters, Rhonda Green and Jennifer Odom; his son, Kenneth D. Smith II; and several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

 

Graveside services will be held at 3 PM, Wednesday, July 8, 2015 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
