Kenneth Jasper Deatherage, a resident of Dothan, died Tuesday, March 15, 2016 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 67.


Memorial services will be held at 3 PM Friday, March 18, 2016 at Wayside Baptist Church with Youth Pastor Erik Varnum officiating. The family will receive friends at the church.


Mr. Deatherage was born June 19, 1948 in Dothan to Virgil H. Deatherage, Sr., and Blondell Scott Deatherage. He graduated from Rehobeth High School and later joined the United States Navy. Mr. Deatherage was a diesel mechanic for many years and enjoyed the outdoors and fishing.


Mr. Deatherage is preceded in death by his mother, Blondell Scott Deatherage, grandparents, Jasper and Tessie Scott.


Survivors include two sons, Kevin and Wendy Deatherage, Cottonwood, Keith Deatherage, Dothan; five grandchildren; two sisters, Anna and Harold Harrison, Bainbridge, GA, Kathy Jones, Dothan; brother, Virgil Deatherage, Jr., Dothan; special brother, Jimmy Foxworth; soulmate, Sondra Varnum and her two sons, Erik and Sean Varnum and families; special nephew, Bobby Jennings, Jr. and many more loving nieces and nephews; special canine companion, Bitsi.
