Mr. Linwood Day of Dothan passed away Saturday, January 12, 2013, at the Southeast Alabama Medical Center. He was 87.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Wednesday, January 16, 2013, at Bluff Springs Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Bluff Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will be receiving friends at the church from 10 to 11 A.M. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bluff Springs Baptist Church, 1990 Bluff Springs Road, Ashford, AL 36312.

 

Mr. Day was an avid birdhunter and fisherman. He loved to train birddogs, and he loved to trade and traffic.  He was married to his wife Alene for 65 years.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Reuben and Ella Day; sister, Ouida Belyeu; brother, Duane Day; and daughter, Wanda Jo Bigbie.

 

Survivors include his wife, Alene Day, Dothan, AL; son, Charles Day, Dothan, AL; daughter, Barbara Blalock (Cullen), Easley, SC; sisters, Mary Sims, Pensacola, FL, and June Singletary (Winston), Pensacola, FL; grandchildren, Jeff Bigbie and Jason Bigbie; several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
