Mr. Ludon Murkerson of Dothan passed away Saturday, August 17, 2013. He was 77.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday, August 19, 2013, at the Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverends Ricky Plummer and Wallace Russell officiating. Burial will follow at Crestlawn Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10 to 11 A.M. Monday, August 19, 2013, one hour prior to the service. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Bethel Baptist Church Building Fund.

 

Mr. Murkerson was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and a member of the Who So Ever Will Sunday School Class. He was a lifetime farmer, and retired from Nypro in 1998. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, and enjoyed watching Alabama Football and Atlanta Braves Baseball.

 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Lillie Mae Murkerson of Ashford; and brother, Kenneth Murkerson of Ashford.

 

Survivors include his wife, Margie L. Murkerson of Dothan; son, Rex Murkerson and his wife, Donna of Dothan; daughters, Gail Christiansen and her husband, Mike of Dothan; Kim Garrett and her husband, Marty of Dothan; grandchildren, Mitch Murkerson and his wife, Alyse, Steven Murkerson and his wife, Kristin, Jessica Christiansen, Caroline Christiansen, great-grandchild, Kaeden Murkerson, and nephews, Chris Murkerson and Bryan Murkerson.

 

Pallbearers will be: Wayne Swords, Nathan Gordon, Mitch Murkerson, Steven Murkerson, Ray Odom, and Wallace Odom.
