Mr. Malcolm Edward Driggers of Eufaula, Alabama, formerly of Samson, passed away Monday, June 02, 2014.  He was 77.


Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Thursday, June 5, 2014 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Randy Stokes and Rev. Gerald Hollis officiating.  Burial will follow in the Eden Baptist Church Cemetery with military honors and Sorrells Funeral Home and Crematory of Geneva directing.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home Wednesday, June 4, 2014, from 6 until 8 p.m.    


Mr. Driggers was born September 12, 1936, in Geneva County, Alabama to the late Malcolm Lamar and Tom Edd Shirah Driggers.  For 34 years he proudly served with the Alabama National Guard working in communications and artillery. He thoroughly enjoyed the outdoors and his favorite pastime was fishing, hunting and gardening.  He was very family oriented and loved his family unconditionally.  For a number of years he was a member of Eden Baptist Church.


Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Patricia Ann Sanders Driggers, Eufaula; three sons: Douglas Edward (Angela) Driggers, Dothan, Dearl Lamar (Debra) Driggers, Kinston, and Derrick Eddie (Brenda) Driggers, Darlington, FL; four grandchildren: Taryan, Jamie, Derrian and Aaron Driggers; one great-grandchild, Ryleigh Driggers; one sister, Laura Lynette (Robert) Harrell, Hartford; special step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren; several special nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts and other extended family and friends.
