Mr. Marion Dan Peters, age 77, a resident of Dothan passed away Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Flowers Hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, March 5, 2017, at Glover Funeral Home with Dr. Ricky Plummer officiating. Burial will follow in the Memory Hill Cemetery with Kendall Glover directing.

The family will be receiving friends at Glover Funeral Home on Sunday from 1:15 p.m. to 2:15 p.m. prior to services. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to Wiregrass Humane Society, 255 Jerry Drive, Dothan, Alabama, 36303.

Mr. Peters was born on November 20, 1939, in Slocomb, Alabama, the son of John Wallace Peters and Eddie Lee McKinney Peters. He was a graduate of Slocomb High School. Mr. Peters retired after being in business for 50 years as the owner of Dan Peters Painting Contractors, and he was in the Alabama Army National Guard.

Mr. Peters was preceded in death by his parents; one brother:  James Peters and three sisters:  Sara Grace Peters, Martha West, Carolyn Galloway.

Survivors include:  his wife, Sonja Gayle Peters; one son, Danny Peters (Tiffani); one daughter, Jill Hare; four brothers, David Peters (Karen), Phillip Peters (Betty), Bobby Peters (Donna), Gerald Peters (Dorothy); one sister, Vicky Jimmerson (Jack); one sister-in-law, Sylvia Peters; three grandchildren, Daniel Andrew Peters, Emily Elizabeth Peters, and Abigail Nicole Peters.
