Marion Dennis

Marion Dennis, 63, of Hampton, VA passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 27, 2013. He was born in Donalsonville, GA to the late Sherman and Louise Dennis. He lived most of his life in Houston, TX before moving to Hampton in 1998.

Marion is survived by his wife of 29 years, Garnise Dennis; sons, Cedric Dennis and Tevin Dennis; sisters, Sarah (Bob) Reynolds, Shirley (Mike) Bevards, and Frances Dennis; grandchildren, Demetrius and Krystyna Dennis; many loving relatives; and a host of close and dear friends. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Sherman Dennis and Omar Shabazz; sister, Vivian Dennis.

Marion was a general contractor for over 40 years until he was forced to retire due to his health. He was passionate about carpentry, painting and remodeling. He was always there to help family and friends. In his spare time he enjoyed cooking, landscaping, sports, traveling, and meeting new people. He will always be remembered for his gregarious and kind personality and that he never met a stranger.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 3, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Byrd Funeral Home Chapel with visitation one hour prior to service time.
