Mr. Newburn Roe Snellgrove, also known as the “Peanut Man”, age 92 of Dothan passed away Monday, November 10, 2014 at Southeast Alabama Medical Center.

 

Born February 1, 1922 in Coffee Springs, AL to the late Robert Snellgrove and Amanda Helms Snellgrove. Mr. Snellgrove enjoyed working in his yards, having one of the most well kept lawns in the area, he loved socializing with everyone, and his greatest love of all was going around and selling his peanuts.

 

Besides his parents, Mr. Snellgrove was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Adkison Snellgrove, his (2) brothers and (3) sisters.

 

He is survived by his daughters, Margaret Snellgrove of Dothan, Susan Darjean (Dennis) of Beaumont, TX.; sons, Tommy Snellgrove (Denise) of Cartersville, GA, Bruce Snellgrove of Dothan; brother, Robert (Joyce) Snellgrove of Marianna, FL.; grandchildren, Mandy (Scott), Dustin (Callie), Brett, Blake; (4) great grandchildren.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, November 13, 2014 at Ward Wilson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Raymond Holt  officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Cemetery with Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing. There will be a visitation held on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 from 5 to 7 PM.

 

The family will be accepting flowers or contributions may be made to Berean Baptist Church, 1381 E Cottonwood Rd, Dothan, AL 36301.
