Mr. Richard Clayton Griswold of Geneva passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2016. He was 81. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016, in the chapel of Pittman Funeral Home in Geneva with Rev. Kenneth Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Mims Hill Cemetery with Pittman Funeral Home of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 1, 2016, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, Joe Lee Griffin Hope Lodge, 1104 Ireland Way, Birmingham, AL 35205. 

Mr. Griswold was born in Coffee County, AL on October 4, 1935, to the late Firna C. Griswold, Sr. and Julia Evelyn Rachels Griswold.  He was a member of Reedy Assembly of God Church. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Griswold worked for Sony as a maintenance technician.   In his pastime he enjoyed playing the guitar in church, camping, fishing and riding his Harley.  His wife of 51 years, Lillie V. “Maxie” Griswold, daughter-in-law, Dena Michelle Griswold, two brothers, Bobby Lamar Griswold and Firna C. “Lucky” Griswold, Jr., and a sister, Betty Jean Bradley preceded him in death.

He is survived by his son, Ricky Clayton Griswold (Yvette Johnson); granddaughter, Rikki Faith Griswold, all of Geneva; three sisters, Geraldine “Tean” Griswold of Westville, FL, Evelyn Byrd (Sammy) of DeFuniak Springs, FL and Juanita Wilson of Westville, FL; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and many special friends.
