Mr. Richard Warren Collins, age 79 of Dothan passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015.


Born February 29, 1936 in Montgomery, Alabama to the late Thomas Richard and Annie Collins, Mr. Collins was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Dothan. A 1965 graduate of Auburn University, Mr. Collins served his country in the United States Navy and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved travelling, enjoying both camping and fishing. He also loved volunteer and mission work.


In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Collins.


Survivors include his wife, Florence Stiglet Collins; his daughters, Susan (Darrell) Rigsby and Cheryl (Tim) Cunningham; his sister, Nancy Coleman; his grandchildren, Johnny Douglas, Richard Douglas, Troix Douglas, Lisa Strickland, and Amy Cogdill; and a great-grandson, Sam; and a host of other relatives and friends.


Graveside services will be held at 10 AM, Friday, June 26, 2015 at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with Reverend Henry Morris officiating and Ward Wilson Funeral Home directing.
