Mr. Riley Jefferson Lisenby, Sr., age 77, a resident of Dothan died Monday, April 8, 2013 at Flowers Hospital after an extended illness.

 

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 11, 2013 in the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Travis Free officiating.  Burial will follow in the Mount Calvary Baptist Church cemetery, near Slocomb, with Kendall Glover of Glover Funeral Home directing.

 

The family will be receiving friends Thursday from 10 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. in the Glover Funeral Home Chapel prior to services.  Flowers will be accepted.

 

Mr. Lisenby was born on February 2, 1936 in Houston County.  He was the son of the late Arthur and Eunice Inez Martin Lisenby.

 

Mr. Lisenby retired as a pressman from the Dothan Eagle after several years of service.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Dora Lee Oliver Lisenby; and a son, Riley J. Lisenby, Jr.

 

Survivors include two sons; Byron (Sheila) Lisenby of Taylor and Justin "Keith" (Faye) Lisenby of Columbia, and two brothers; Charles (Mary) Martin and Henry (Cathy) Martin all of Dothan; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

 

Pallbearers will be Justin Lisenby, Scott Lee, Mark Lisenby, Shannon Givens, Byron Lisenby and Jason Givens, Jr.
