Robert “Bob” Chester Sowell, a resident of Stafford, Texas, died Friday, June 7, 2013 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Sugarland, Texas, following a sudden illness. He was 54.

Bob was born in Brewton, Alabama, to the late Chester Luttrell Sowell, Jr. and Alice Harris Sowell. He was raised in Dothan and was a 1977 graduate of Dothan High School where he excelled in golf and attended Troy State University on a golf scholarship. Bob was a Construction Superintendent for Spec 10 Sales, Inc. Construction Company in Stafford, Texas.

Survivors include his mother, Alice Sowell, Dothan, Alabama; daughter, Ivy Sowell Davies, Atlanta, Georgia; two grandchildren; sister, Mary Alice Goolsby and her husband, David, Dothan, Alabama; two brothers, Bill Sowell and his wife, Sherry, Cowarts, Chester Sowell and his wife, Pam, Dothan, Alabama; several nieces and nephews.

Private graveside services will be held at Memory Hill Cemetery.
