Mr. Robert Donald Ramsey of Coffee Springs, Alabama went home to be with his Lord and Savior Saturday, October 10, 2015.  He was 76. 

Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 13, 2015, at Sardis United Methodist Church, Chancellor, Alabama with the Rev. Clifton McWhorter officiating.  Burial with full military honors will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Geneva directing. The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday beginning at 1:00 p.m. until service time. 

Mr. Ramsey was born June 7, 1939, in Potsdam, New York, to the late John Paul and Beatrice Elizabeth Kerr Ramsey.  He proudly served his country for 24 years in the United States Navy.  He was an avid reader, enjoyed woodworking and was a member of the Coffee Springs City Council for 16 years.  He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. 

He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bea and Linda and one brother Ronnie.

Survivors include his wife of 47 years, Margaret B. Ramsey, Coffee Springs

one son, Vernon H. Ramsey and wife Donna of Parachute, Colorado; one daughter, Lori Ann Ramsey Williams and husband Willie of El Cajon, California;   one brother, Gerald Ramsey (Patricia), Las Vegas, Nevada;  one sister, Gean Perry, Syracuse, New York; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and two little blessings on the way.
