Richard “ Rick” Paul Schaum, a resident of Slocomb, died Monday August 19, 2013 at Flowers Hospital. He was 59.

Memorial services for Rick will be held at 1 PM Friday August 23, 2013 in Clearman Chapel at Southern Heritage with Gabriel Boyett officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.

Rick  was born in New York on January 29, 1954. He relocated to Slocomb in 1992 after coming here to build the Highland Oaks Golf Course. Rick was an avid animal lover who took in all kinds of animals.

Survivors include his wife, Debra Schaum, Slocomb; daughter, Naomi Schaum Hatfield and her husband, Paul, Fairhope, AL; son Will Arrington and his wife, Samantha, Ponce de Leon, FL; five grandchildren, Hayden Hatfield, Zachary Hatfield, Riley Hatfield, Kylee Arrington and Karlee Arrington; sister, Gloria Jones, Denver; two brothers, Thomas Worrell, Jr and Robert Worrell both of Washington, D.C.; and a loving aunt, Anna Grissino, Beverly Hills, FL.
