Rufus Adams, beloved husband, father and "Pa" died on Friday, August 19, 2016 at his home in Ashford, Alabama. He was 84 years old.

 

Graveside services for Mr. Adams will be held at 2 PM Sunday, August 21, 2016 in Ashford City cemetery.

 

Mr. Adams was born in Houston County to the late Choice and Edna Maddox Adams. He was a veteran of the United States Army and retired from Cedar Springs Plywood Mill.

 

He leaves behind his wife of 55 years, Betty Jean "Pat"; daughter Robin Sherrill (Mark) of Ashford; daughter Donna Colwell (Billy) of Enterprise; granddaughter Heather Sherrill (Connor Pate) of Columbia; sister Betty Jean Sims (Ralph) of Ashford; brother Charles Adams (Annie) of Ashford; and beloved friend John Massey of Ashford.
