Steven “Cowboy” Reed, 56, died Wednesday, November 18, 2015 in Alachua County, Florida from injuries he received in a traffic accident.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Dothan Country Fellowship Church with Reverend Fred Bacher officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Flowers are accepted or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Resource Center, 1314 Westgate Parkway Suite 2, Dothan, Alabama 36303.

Born in Stuttgart, Germany, Cowboy is the son of Winnie J. Simpson Reed, and the late Edmund S. Reed. He was a professional truck driver with Max Hughes Trucking Company and attended Dothan Country Fellowship Church and the First Baptist Church of Dothan, Alabama.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Kathy Holtcamp Reed, Dothan, AL; a son, Joshua Reed, Hersey, PA; three step-sons, Greg Vest, Pineville, LA, Eric Vest, Jeffersonville, IN, James Vest, Anderson, SC; two step daughters, Elizabeth Herbert, South Haven, MI; Allison Sweeney, Hebron, KY; a brother, David Reed, Wetumpka, AL; a sister, Terri Phillips, Dothan, AL; three grandchildren, Corbett Vest, Emma Vest and Hoax Vest.
