Mr. Steven Davis Roney, age 55, a resident of Dothan, died Sunday October 19, 2014 at the SAMC after a sudden illness.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday October 22, 2014 at the Glover Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Billy Gene Dickerson and Rev. Jerry Harden officiating.  Burial will follow at Frith Hill Community Church Cemetery with Kendall Glover directing.

The family will be receiving friends at Glover Funeral Home on Tuesday October 21, 2014 from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.  Flowers will be accepted.

Mr. Roney was born on December 9, 1958 in Dothan the son of the late Tharwald Davis Roney and Jimmie Dean Money Roney.  Steve was retired as a Foreman with City of Dothan Water Utility Department after 26 years of service.  He has worked as a truck driver with George Lewis Waste Disposal for the past 9 years.  Mr. Roney was a member of Frith Hill Community Church and was a member of Abbeville Hunting Club.

He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Vickie Jo Abney Roney.

Survivors include: wife, Tina Sorrells Roney, Dothan; daughter, Nacole Wood (Chris), Dothan; son, Nathan Roney (Kacie), Dothan; two step-daughters, Liza Reynolds (Keith), Skipperville; Ashley Patterson (Jonah), Cottonwood; two sisters, Susan Kingry (Clyde), Dothan; Debbie Coleman & friend (Dan), Headland; brother, Tim Roney (Debbie), Dothan; 6 grandchildren, Jolee Roney, David Wood, Kennedy Wood, Kain Reynolds, Makayla Patterson and Dearl Patterson; special friend, Wallace Odom, Ashford; several nieces & nephews.

 Active Pallbearer’s will be: Jeff Abney, Damon Godwin, Russell Lee, Wallace Odom, David Tyson and George Lewis.

 Honorary Pallbearer’s will be: Members of the Abbeville Hunting Club, Bill Orr and Pete Soloman.

 Glover Funeral Home of Dothan has been entrusted with the arrangements.
