Mr. Terry Dixon of Rehobeth passed away Sunday, August 17, 2014. He was 67.


Funeral services will be held at 3 P.M. Tuesday, August 19, 2014 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Reverend Ray Jones officiating. A private graveside service for family will follow.


The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2:30 P.M. Tuesday, August 19, 2014. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Ridgecrest Baptist Church or Genetiva Hospice. The family will also receive friends at Brian and Breanna’s home at 773 Johnny Murphy Rd in Rehobeth. 


Terry was a lifelong resident of Rehobeth, Alabama. He graduated from Rehobeth High School in 1964. He then attended Wallace Community College and became a member of the Army Reserve National Guard. He began his career in banking with First National Bank of Dothan, Dothan Bank & Trust, and later People’s Bank of Graceville. In 1988, he formed Financial Office and Security Equipment, servicing bank equipment and commercial security needs. He valued his customers and considered them close friends and family. He was an active, dedicated member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and served as the Chairman of the Ushers for many years. His grandchildren were one of the highlights of his life. He loved taking them for hayrides with his antique John Deere tractor and taking them fishing at his pond.


Terry is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin C. and Mable Dixon.


Terry is survived by his wife of 29 years, Judy Newton Dixon; a daughter and son-in-law, Breanna and Brian North of Rehobeth; grandchildren, Riley and Emma North of Rehobeth; and many special friends that he loved as brothers.


Pallbearers will be: Eddie Dodd, Donald Culbreth, Johnny Stuart, Donald Schulman, James Hulon, and Doug Enfinger.


Honorary pallbearers will be the ushers of Ridgecrest Baptist Church.
