Obituary: Mr. UV Wright

 

 

Mr. U V Wright of Slocomb passed away Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at SAMC.  He was 81.

 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 6 in New Providence Baptist Church. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 

 

The family will receive friends and family at the funeral home on Friday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

 

Mr. Wright was born December 9, 1931 in Holmes County, Florida to the late Veron and Thelma Riley Wright. He was a faithful member of New Providence Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. Mr. Wright loved the Lord and was a very generous, kind and tender hearted man. He was a loving husband, great father, wonderful brother and faithful friend. He was a US Army veteran who loved his country and served in the Korean War.

 

In addition to his parents, three brothers: Edwin Wright, Russell Wright and Bobby Wright all preceded him in death.

 

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Faye Wright, Slocomb; three daughters: Deborah Bailey, Atlantic Beach, FL, Danita Murdoch, Slocomb and Donna Gantt and her husband Brett, Los Angeles, CA; two grandchildren: Lindsey and Cal Bailey; one great-grandson, Hunter Bailey; one sister, Rubye Thomley, Slocomb; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family plus many friends. He will be greatly missed.
